Key ResponsibilitiesThe primary role of the veterinary technician is to provide outstanding support to our veterinarians and ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting patient assessments and monitoring vital signs.
- Administering anesthesia and assisting in surgical procedures.
- Performing diagnostic tests and interpreting results.
- Providing treatments and medications as directed by the veterinarian.
- Communicating effectively with clients regarding their pets' health and treatment plans.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; additional education in veterinary technology is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a veterinary setting.
- RVT certification and licensure are required.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Basic mathematical skills for medication calculations.
- Familiarity with veterinary software and record-keeping.
Candidates must be able to:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
- Work in a noisy environment with various animal sounds.
- Adhere to safety protocols when handling medications and equipment.
