Job Title: Energy Management Expert

Allegient Defense is a leading provider of technically oriented services, supporting government and prime system integrators with engineering and management expertise. We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Management Expert to join our team and support one of our federal clients.

Job Summary:

The Energy Management Expert will apply principles, methods, and knowledge of specific functional areas of expertise to DHS energy requirements. This includes providing advice on complex problems, conducting energy assessments and audits, writing policy documents or studies, and reviewing agency requirements to provide recommendations for new technology improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply principles, methods, and knowledge of specific functional areas of expertise to DHS energy requirements.
  • Provide advice on complex problems requiring extensive knowledge of the state of the energy industry specifically as it applies to the Federal Government.
  • Direct energy assessments and audits.
  • Write policy documents or studies.
  • Review agency requirements and provide recommendations for new technology improvements.
  • Suggest improvements of energy efficiency including better data collection methodology.
  • Assist in efforts for the Department to transfer energy knowledge and best practices in the industry to Components and develop Energy Management solutions and systems.
  • Directs or assists efforts to improve efficiency for all utilities.
  • Analyze and provide recommendations for strategies to improve the Department's utility costs and Greenhouse Gas emissions.
  • Provide onsite analysis of current operations, equipment, and energy purchasing patterns.
  • Provide support for energy efficient buildings certification programs, direct or assist energy and water program initiatives related to energy efficiency, energy assessment, design of energy solutions including alternative energy choices.
  • Directs or participates in energy management programs including energy choice analysis, energy efficiency, and energy engineering requirements and evaluates energy choices including economic and technical analysis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years in engineering or a related field.
  • Familiar with DHS energy requirements.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, studies, and related documentation, using analytical methodologies to gain new insights and perspectives, and preparing and delivering presentation, briefings, and reports to convey findings and results.
  • Experience developing, leading, and conducting workshops and seminars.
  • Experience developing recommendations such as estimates of cost saving and environmental benefits.
