Akelius is seeking an experienced energy manager to join the Construction team.


The energy manager is responsible for identifying, reporting, and implementing energy-saving opportunities for Akelius properties and future acquisitions.


The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.


  • analyze building utility consumption and cost data
  • evaluate building potential prior to acquisition
  • manage energy and water efficiency audits


  • recommend measures for reducing utility consumption
  • plan and implement measures with asset management and construction team
  • measure and verify savings from implemented measures


  • conduct trainings for construction and property staff
  • support the development of efficiency guidelines and standards
  • manage energy projects implementation


  • monitor energy focused incentives and rebates
  • submit energy focused incentives and rebates
  • assist in inspections of properties


  • complete various energy related reporting
  • perform other duties as assigned


who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, and or building science
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • expert technical understanding of energy and water efficiency


  • LEED, WELL, or other building certifications preferred
  • experience with energy auditing and modelling
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent, is preferred


  • experience implementing efficiency measures in multifamily or commercial buildings
  • exposure to or experience with corporate sustainability initiatives and programs
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including
