Description

Overview

The individual in this role, under general oversight and adhering to established protocols, is tasked with delivering outstanding customer service while supporting the overall functionality of the branch.

The Comprehensive Banking Specialist will collaborate with the Assistant and Branch Managers across all aspects of the platform operations, as well as assist in coordinating sales, business development, and service-related initiatives.

When required, they will perform teller duties.


Branch Responsibilities

All Comprehensive Banking Specialists are assigned a primary branch but may be requested to provide coverage at any of our other locations as needed. Flexibility to work at various branches is essential.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily branch operations in the absence of the Branch Manager and/or Assistant Branch Manager, ensuring compliance with established policies.
  • Ensures high standards of service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Consistently demonstrates exceptional customer service when interacting with clients.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Continuously enhances product knowledge to assist clients with their financial needs.
  • Identifies opportunities for workflow improvements.
  • Addresses and resolves customer and account-related issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Safeguards customer confidentiality.
  • Accurately identifies all new and existing customers.
  • Facilitates the opening of all account products offered by the bank.
  • Conducts transactional services, including stop payments, deposits, withdrawals, and related transactions, ensuring accuracy in completion.

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Aims to achieve sales targets through proactive cross-selling of additional products and services.
  • Identifies leads and further business opportunities during customer interactions.
  • Assists the Branch Manager in outreach efforts to local businesses and community organizations to promote the bank's community engagement and enhance deposit growth.
  • Prepares and monitors daily reports, assists in adhering to budgetary constraints, and approves transactions requiring overrides.
  • Complies with and executes the Bank's BSA program, including Customer Identification Program (CIP), ChexSystems, and OFAC processing, while observing customer activity and completing currency transaction reports as necessary.
  • Supports the Branch Manager in fostering a competitive environment within the branch by encouraging staff to promote the bank's product offerings through cross-selling.
  • Ensures that all branch security and control measures are effectively implemented.
  • Participates in all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • Engages in community involvement and local public relations activities as required.
  • Assists with branch audits.

Supervisory Duties

Directly supervises three teller employees, executing supervisory responsibilities in alignment with the organization's policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include training staff, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns.


Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, along with one to two years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong language skills to interpret documents, write reports, and communicate effectively with groups.
  • Mathematical proficiency to calculate figures and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and resolve problems in standardized situations.

Physical and Work Environment

The physical demands of this position require regular communication, frequent sitting, and occasional standing and reaching. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment is typically quiet.
