About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician Trainee to join our team at Goodyear. As a Maintenance Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for learning and supporting the manufacturing process by troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing tire-related manufacturing, processing machinery, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and successfully complete our Maintenance Technician Trainee program, which will provide knowledge and experience in areas such as machine shop equipment, electronic industrial systems, PLCs, and more.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of equipment to ensure optimum operating conditions and uptime across all related crafts.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machines and drive power distribution systems, instrumentation, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, and other mechanical issues.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, maintenance manuals, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Cut, form, thread, fit, and install piping for air, water, steam, oil, nitrogen, gas, and other lines.
  • Prepare and weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions with multiple technologies.
  • Log or use computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend, and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment criteria.
  • Ability to work any and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must provide basic tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AAS degree in Industrial Systems Technology or Electrical Systems Technology, or equivalent technical degree.
  • Previous industrial manufacturing experience and basic knowledge and understanding of machine technology, construction, operation of heavy industrial machinery, and power/control devices.
  • Experience adhering to industry-specific safety standards.
