Job Summary:

Cameron University is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on various building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating systems
  • Repair building electrical systems and perform minor service and maintenance on chemical water treating systems
  • Service exposed water, gas, and sewer systems and check building security and fire alarm systems
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on building systems to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a vocational or technical training school with training in refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing
  • Six months experience in one of the associated trades in the maintenance of plant equipment and systems
  • Ability to understand and implement oral and written instructions
  • Must be able to perform strenuous work requiring lifting weights up to 50 pounds, crawling, overhead work, kneeling, walking, and being on feet for extended periods of time
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • EPA Section 608 Technician Certification Type II, Type III, or Universal Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a standard high school or equivalent
  • Twelve months of work experience in one of the associated trades in the maintenance of plant equipment and systems
  • EPA Section 608 Technician Certification Universal Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent and repeated bending, stooping, and kneeling
  • Working with arms extended above head
  • Lifting and carrying loads over fifty pounds
  • Working in very tight areas/cramped enclosures
  • Climbing ladders, working at heights, and exposure to extreme weather conditions

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience.
