Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Inspira Health Network. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, employees, visitors, and property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Proactive Security Services: Conduct regular security patrols and respond to incidents in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure Excellent Customer Service: Greet visitors, answer phone calls, and provide assistance to patients and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain Visibility and Accountability: Wear proper uniform, maintain a neat and clean appearance, and display Inspira Health Network photo identification badge and Security Officer Shield.
  • Coordinate with Other Departments: Respond to calls for assistance, coordinate with other Security Officers, and maintain constant radio contact.
  • Document Incidents and Events: Maintain a daily log of all events and incidents, and use the Security Incident Report form to document any incidents that occurred on the shift.
  • Report Incidents and Malfunctions: Assess incidents and clearly relay related information, and assure all documentation is reported correctly, clearly, and concisely.
  • Perform Courier Runs and Other Duties: Coordinate with Courier on duty if possible, and perform other duties as needed during the shift.
  • Assure Compliance with Policies and Procedures: Adhere to Inspira Health Network and Security Department policies and procedures, and identify problems and develop recommendations for resolution to Security Manager.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, 6 months of security experience, and 3 years' experience in law enforcement, private security, or investigations preferred.
  • Certification and Licensure: Valid driver's license required, Basic Security Officer Certification (IAHSS) required within 1 year of hire, and American Heart Association BLS required within 100 days.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to effectively interact with hospital employees, visitors, patients, contractors, and volunteers, and ability to effectively manage the responsibilities and duties of the position and the department.
