Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a skilled Release Engineer to join the Platform Engineering organization. This team member will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the vision for the team, driving technological growth, and expanding our customer base. This is a high-visibility and high-impact position with significant influence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for various software applications and target platforms
• Configure CICD tooling and service infrastructure using Terraform
• Develop Gradle build scripts for diverse software applications
• Support all aspects of release engineering, including source control, software builds, and application deployments
• Collaborate with software developers and platform engineers to establish and refine org-wide standard methodologies and service ecosystems
• Contribute to the creation of technical documents outlining the team's future roadmap
• Establish and champion standards for automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
• Develop automated solutions to monitor and support software development and release processes

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in a Release Engineering role or similar
• Proven track record of producing results with minimal requirements
• Experience working in public cloud infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment
• Familiarity with software development processes (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies
• Ability to collaborate with partners to ensure development efforts align with customer needs
• Experience driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, project management, and risk mitigation
• Track record of identifying and driving opportunities for continuous improvement
• Comfortable working in multi-functional and multidisciplinary teams
• Position may require travel

Bonus Requirements:
• Linux System Administration experience, ideally CentOS, RedHat, or SuSE
• Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture concepts and architectural approaches
• Experience in e-commerce
