We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at a detention facility in Alexandria, LA. As a member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating complex clinical operations and providing direct care to patients within the scope of your practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications as ordered, using various routes such as oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, topical, ophthalmic, and enteral/parenteral.
  • Perform prescreening and intake screening of patients, using established tools to gather subjective and objective data.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing or prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and render emergency care to stabilize patients and prevent deterioration.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a Vocational/Practical Nurse program approved by a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. Territory.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a hospital, medical office, or outpatient clinical setting.
  • Experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Correctional Health Professional or Certified Corrections Nurse credential.
