Diesel Engine Technician Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines and related systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and filter replacements, to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of diesel engines.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently, following established repair procedures and safety protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and diagnostic tests to identify potential problems and provide accurate cost estimates for repairs.
- Repair or replace defective components using appropriate tools, equipment, and quality parts.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, including service reports and time spent on each job.
- Collaborate with other team members and provide guidance and support to enhance the overall skill level of the team.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in diesel engine technology through continuous learning and training opportunities.
- Foster a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
Requirements:
- Military veteran with experience in diesel mechanics or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, acquired through military training and experience.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engine issues, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
- Familiarity with a wide range of diesel engines, including various manufacturers and models.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Solid understanding of repair procedures, safety protocols, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to diagnose complex issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
