Job Summary

Simplex is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our Financial Services Division in Austin, TX. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective procurement of commodities, equipment, and services.

About the Role

This 6-month contract position offers the potential for extension and permanent placement. You will work 2 days remotely and 3 days on-site in downtown Austin, TX. To be successful in this role, you must reside in Austin or the commutable area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requisition and order supplies, computer equipment, furniture, etc.
  • Audit invoices and checks for accuracy, receipt of material, and compliance with purchase orders.
  • Track the status of requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Process receipts of purchases.
  • Review bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
  • Assist with conducting a needs assessment to determine requirements.
  • Assist with the distribution of bid invitations to vendors.
  • Assist with reviewing and tabulating bids and orders to determine the best value and fit.
  • Assist with negotiating settlement complaints and resolving disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Understand PCC codes and specific applications.
  • Monitor contract performance.
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of experience in finance or accounting (A degree preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • A degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related major.
  • Experience with Centralized Accounting Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS) Financials.
  • Any state or local government experience.
  • Experience with Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS).
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
