We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team at The Brook Hospital - KMI, a renowned provider of comprehensive mental health services for adolescents. As a Mental Health Associate, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of providing exceptional treatment experiences.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals who share a passion for helping adolescents overcome mental health challenges. As a Mental Health Associate, you will be responsible for: maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, promoting patient participation in program activities, and performing technical/patient care duties relative to patient health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and support to adolescents in our treatment programs
  • Assist in the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment, including daily safety checks and adherence to facility guidelines
  • Manage patient groups during outside activities, such as recreational therapy, outings, and meals
  • Assist in the management of behavior and control of destructive behavior, in accordance with facility guidelines
  • Recognize signs of impaired social interaction and motivate patients towards desired cooperation
  • Teach alternatives to destructive behavior and promote healthy coping mechanisms

Competitive Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred
  • Years of experience: No experience required; direct patient care experience in a behavioral health setting preferred
  • Certifications: Must maintain current CPR certification
  • Computer skills: Ability to gain training through web-based programs, participate in employee surveys, and enroll in company benefits
  • Communication: Excellent verbal skills required for communicating with patients, coworkers, and visitors
  • Teamwork: Ability to actively participate in a treatment team environment
  • Service Excellence: Consistently demonstrates all Service Excellence Standards
