Job Summary
The Peer Specialist will engage and support individuals and their families in pursuit of recovery and related goals. This role is responsible for providing peer support, skills training, connection to community resources, home and community-based interventions, and maintaining communication with referring courts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide peer support and guidance to individuals and their families
- Develop and implement skills training programs to promote recovery and wellness
- Connect individuals with community resources and services to support their recovery
- Collaborate with referring courts to ensure effective communication and support
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education highly preferred
- One year related experience if no Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Personal Recovery time
- Basic knowledge of the Recovery Model
- Must complete background checks as required by Aspire Indiana's policies
- Must have a valid Indiana Driver's License
- Must be able to provide Aspire Indiana with current auto insurance upon hire
- Must have a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization
