The primary objective of the Regulatory and Accreditation Program is to promote safe, high-quality, and effective patient care through maintaining accreditation, certification, and licensure compliance.
The Regulatory Director is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive regulatory survey readiness program in support of the organization's mission, values, and goals. This includes planning, implementing, and directing activities that ensure compliance with city, state, and federal regulatory requirements and associated accreditation requirements.
Reporting directly to the Chief Quality Officer, the Regulatory Director will establish guidelines to meet The Joint Commission accreditation requirements, plan and implement programs to support continuous survey readiness activities, and direct organizational survey readiness and continuous compliance activities.
The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of the regulatory environment, including NYCDOHMH, NYSDOH, Joint Commission, CMS, and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). They will also have 3-7 years of experience with accreditation and regulatory survey processes, development and follow-up of corrective plans, and knowledge of TJC's E-edition software and JCR AMP Tracer software.
The Regulatory Director will serve as the organization's point of contact for accreditation and all regulatory agencies, as well as other external partners. They will also be responsible for policy management programs to ensure compliance with regulations and legal statute, ensuring evidence-based practice is fundamental in resource document processes, and developing and maintaining a comprehensive project plan linked to standards with ongoing monitoring and reporting to senior management.
The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. They will also have proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Products and the ability to work under stress and in emergency situations.
