Building strong relationships with healthcare professionals and clinic staff is essential for gathering necessary documentation to facilitate insurance claims.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure efficient processing of patient orders.
- Review clinician documentation to meet payer medical policy standards.
- Confirm patient eligibility and benefits for durable medical equipment with insurance providers.
- Identify authorization requirements for durable medical equipment from payers.
- Submit and track authorization requests for DME coverage with commercial payers.
- Establish strong connections with clinicians and clinic staff to collect documentation for insurance claims.
- Maintain accurate records of patient insurance benefits in the database.
- Update and manage patient information and database entries meticulously.
- Act as a liaison between C4 Technical Services, healthcare teams, and patients to ensure all necessary paperwork is collected for order fulfillment.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance team skills.
- Maintain departmental service levels, including turnaround times.
- Ensure proper registration on payer portals.
- Collaborate with team members and assist as needed.
- Promote continuous process improvement by seeking ways to enhance efficiency.
- Contribute to team meetings and discussions.
- Assist in training new team members or field representatives as required.
- Adhere to internal and external regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 1 year in a medical device, customer service, or call center role.
- Experience working with patients, clinicians, and payers is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Filemaker or Parachute is a plus.
- Background in outpatient DME, insurance, revenue cycle management, or customer service is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data integrity.
- Effective prioritization and workload management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional interactions.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and processes.
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.
- Problem-solving abilities to address routine issues effectively.
- Commitment to high-quality service for both internal and external customers.
- Proficiency in relevant computer systems and software for order management.
- Understanding of regulations and policies governing patient order management.
