Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Grafton, Wisconsin. This is a per diem / prn position that offers flexible scheduling and a range of responsibilities.
About the Role
The successful candidate will perform basic to advanced radiologic procedures under the direction of the Radiologist. They will be proficient in performing diagnostic, fluoroscopy, pain clinic, GI lab, urology, and c-arm procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as they will work effectively with diverse providers, patients, and other staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and be proficient with all radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, fluoroscopy, pain clinic, GI lab, urology, and c-arm procedures.
- Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding, and address any questions or concerns.
- Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
- Identify patient and label images pertaining to the patient, compare requisitions to physician's orders to ensure exam accuracy, and process images ensuring quality of radiographs and call back patients as necessary.
- Assist, communicate, and consult with the Radiologists, working independently outside the department with providers.
- Prepare and maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, documenting billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
- Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff, acting as a resource to staff at own facility and throughout the system.
- Facilitate clinical problem solving and collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients after procedures and any other imaging department processes and procedures.
- Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Radiologic Technologist role.
