We're seeking a highly skilled Diagnostics Imaging Specialist to join our team at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles.

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing diagnostic imaging services to patients and contributing to the success of our radiology department.
About the Role:
This position offers a competitive salary of $111,500 per year, based on experience. In addition to a generous compensation package, we offer a range of benefits, including flexible payment options, upfront tuition coverage, and paid parental leave.
Job Summary:
- The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, such as x-rays and CT scans, to help diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
- They will work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
- As a member of our radiology team, they will contribute to maintaining a clean and organized department, ensuring that equipment is properly functioning, and adhering to radiation safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Explaining Procedures to Patients: The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner, ensuring that they understand what to expect during their examination.
- Patient Preparation and Safety: They will prepare patients for radiology exams by positioning them correctly and following radiation safety guidelines to prevent unnecessary exposure.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent malfunctions.
- Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to achieve accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document and report findings from imaging procedures, communicating results to patients and healthcare teams as necessary.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or completion of a radiology certification program is required. No prior experience is necessary, but candidates with relevant experience will be preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk frequently, use vision and depth perception for distances near and far, and hear and speak effectively to share information.
- May occasionally lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and bend, stoop, or twist to perform tasks.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory, and ARRT-R Radiography certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
Location and Work Schedule:
This position is based at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles, with a scheduled weekly hour of 40 hours. The shift pattern is Day Shift (United States of America).
