About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health's Grafton location. This role will involve operating angiographic equipment, assisting with interventional and surgical procedures, and monitoring patients.

Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will be responsible for competently operating angiographic equipment, acting as a scrub assistant on basic interventional and surgical procedures, and monitoring patients. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of basic radiology positioning and techniques, radiation safety, and aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures
  • Act as a scrub assistant on interventional and surgical procedures
  • Monitor patients and alert staff of life-threatening changes in patient status
  • Apply defibrillator and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required
  • Identify and process images, ensuring they are of diagnostic quality
  • Assist clinical engineering staff in evaluating digital equipment
  • Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure accuracy
  • Post-process images, identifying and labeling them correctly
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies
  • Enter patient and study information into the radiology information system
  • Document billing codes for procedures performed
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties

Requirements:

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced training beyond high school in radiologic technology

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over head, carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with another person present
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience
