Housing Works is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Development to join our team. This role will be responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of fundraising events, as well as developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue and donor engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and implement fundraising and sales plans, strategies, and operations for events to increase profit and customer experience.
  • Participate in planning and execution of events, including identifying dates, locations, participants, and formats.
  • Help to execute event sponsorship outreach, including identifying new partners and renewing existing partners.
  • Develop and manage mutually beneficial integrated marketing and activation plans for sponsors.
  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with priority donors, vendors, and volunteers.
  • Contribute to event budgets and negotiate event/production contracts.
  • Identify new event opportunities to refresh the current offering of agency events that drive additional revenue, new donors, and visibility for the organization.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of event/management experience is preferred.
  • Superior communications skill, including leading presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in strategic planning, setting goals, and managing performance.
  • Strong, detail-oriented, organizational and follow-through skills, as well as exceptional written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and exercise good judgment, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal day-to-day supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional computer software skills, including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel to appointments, meetings, conferences, etc. for job-related business.
  • Experience with and proven commitment to working with low-income and marginalized communities, as well as individuals with multiple chronic medical and/or behavioral health conditions.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to remain in stationary position 75-80% of the time.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and/or traverse work locations.
  • Constantly operates computer, cell phone and other office equipment.
  • Person in this position frequently communicates staff, volunteers, donors, and vendors on all matters related to event management/fundraising. Must be able to exchange accurate/concise information in these situations.
