Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Inpatient Pharmacist to join our team at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center. As an Inpatient Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing pharmaceutical care to inpatients, outpatients, and home health patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide pharmaceutical care to patients, including interpreting physician orders, reviewing therapy for age and appropriateness, and dispensing medications.
  • Direct IV additive systems, prepare profiles and labels, and compound IV admixtures using aseptic technique.
  • Participate in clinical pharmacy activities, including pharmacokinetics, drug information, and educational programs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Consult and advise nursing, allied health, home health care, medical staff, and patients on drug therapy.
  • Supervise work of pharmacy personnel as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Iowa.
  • Previous hospital experience in unit-dose, IV additive, and clinical pharmacy programs is desirable.
  • Ability to effectively supervise technical staff.
  • Accuracy and thoroughness in performing job functions.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment in decisions relating to medication therapy.
