Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Inpatient Pharmacist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional pharmaceutical care to our patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely medication dispensing, ensuring patient safety and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Interpret physician orders, review therapy for age and appropriateness, and dispense medications as needed.
  • Direct IV additive systems, prepare profiles and labels, and compound IV admixtures using aseptic technique.
  • Participate in clinical pharmacy activities, including pharmacokinetics, drug information, and educational programs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Consult and advise nursing, allied health, home health care, medical staff, and patients on drug therapy.
  • Supervise work of pharmacy personnel as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Iowa.
  • Previous hospital experience in unit-dose, IV additive, and clinical pharmacy programs is desirable.
  • Ability to effectively supervise technical staff.
  • Accuracy and thoroughness in performing job functions.
  • Ability to perform all functions in a timely fashion to optimize patient care.
  • Professional judgment in decisions relating to medication therapy.
  • Effective and courteous communication with other members of the pharmacy, medical, and hospital staffs and guests and clients.
