Job Title: Senior Director of Nursing and Inpatient Programs

Job Summary:

The Senior Director of Nursing and Inpatient Programs is a key leadership position responsible for providing strategic and operational supervision and leadership to the Health Services nursing teams at Villa of Hope. This role oversees the overall strategy, operations, compliance, quality, patient experience, and outcomes for the Living Hope Treatment Center and other assigned programs/locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Supervise and manage nursing staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating their performance.
  • Ensure adequate nursing coverage across all assigned programs/locations and manage on-call rotations.
  • Provide medical program oversight, including supervising staff in care of clients with medical issues and medication administration.
  • Oversee all staffing needs, including ensuring adherence to NYS and federal medical policy for all nurses to provide safe and competent care.
  • Facilitate and track CPR/First Aid certification and Narcan training for nurses and applicable program staff.
  • Ensure adherence to all OMH, OASAS, NYSED, DOH, BNE, and COA regulations by all members of the nursing team.
  • Approve payroll and vacation time for team members.
  • Collaborate with program directors, staff nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and physicians/psychiatrists to promote a collaborative and person-centered approach to client care.
  • Represent the Agency in the pharmacy relationship to ensure clients' prescription needs are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; Registered Nurse license in New York State (license needs to be unencumbered).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse; preferred minimum 3-5 years nurse leadership experience.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the nursing care and treatment of behavioral health and related illnesses preferred.
  • Leadership skills, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, proficiency in trauma-informed care, and skilled in staffing relationship development and problem-solving.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and walking is required for the majority of time spent on campus.
  • Regular lifting of medical supplies, medications, patient supplies, and patient charts, all weighing up to twenty pounds is required.
  • Bending is required when administering patient care.
  • Squatting or kneeling is required when operating medical equipment and performing aspects of patient care, such as CPR or TCI.

Travel:

Occasional driving of clients to medical appointments.
