Job Summary

Palo Verde Hematology is seeking a highly skilled Urology Technician/LPN to join our team in a busy outpatient clinic setting. As a Urology Technician/LPN, you will play a critical role in supporting the urodynamic lab and ensuring the efficient flow of patients through the clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Urodynamic Testing: Perform urodynamic tests and enter information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Communicate with providers regarding testing or test results as needed.
  • Clinical Support: Assist with urology and urogynecologic office procedures, including cystoscopies, bladder botox, urethral bulking, and pelvic floor injections.
  • Catheterization and Specimen Collection: Catheterize patients under aseptic conditions and collect urologic specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Patient Care: Take and document patient vital signs, collect specimens, and perform point-of-care testing as ordered.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule appointments, laboratory tests, and communicate with the outpatient department to verify appointments.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and perform minor maintenance on electronic urodynamic equipment.
  • Supply Management: Prepare and arrange instruments, towels, solutions, and other supplies for urodynamic appointments.
  • Quality Control: Maintain detailed equipment assessment pre and post procedures, and perform daily and weekly quality control of all equipment.
  • Documentation: Complete and maintain detailed paperwork for all laboratory procedures and maintain lab statistics.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients and co-workers, explaining procedures and assisting with patient care as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: LPN or similar licensure
  • Experience: 1 year of prior clinical experience
Skills and Abilities
  • Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented and proficient at identifying and organizing necessary tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to follow protocols and function well under pressure, with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassion and Emergency Response: Ability to provide compassionate care to patients and recognize emergency situations, responding appropriately.
  • Technical Skills: Possess manual dexterity and visual acuity, with knowledge of aseptic technique and standard precautions.
