Key Responsibilities:
As the Printing Manager, you will be accountable for:
- Analyzing work orders and production pieces to identify necessary processes, materials, machinery, and operational sequences.
- Delegating tasks to team members and establishing methods to synchronize workflow to meet production timelines.
- Verifying the availability and staging of stock in accordance with the production schedule.
- Collaborating with scheduling teams daily to assess workload and production performance expectations.
- Conducting visual inspections of finished products using precision measuring tools.
- Working closely with Quality Control to monitor output and evaluate each project for quality standards and imperfections.
- Maintaining accurate records of time and production metrics.
- Coordinating with other supervisors to ensure seamless departmental activities.
- Upholding compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Actively participating in company training programs focused on Operational Excellence.
- Establishing and maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for departmental equipment.
- Diagnosing equipment malfunctions and determining repair and maintenance needs.
- Ensuring adherence to safety regulations among employees.
- Staying informed about new products and advancements within the department.
- Assessing staffing levels to meet production demands and productivity benchmarks.
Performance Management:
You will manage team performance by setting clear objectives and holding employees accountable for achieving performance standards through effective coaching and timely evaluations.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in folding carton converting.
- A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
- The ability to quickly learn and understand the jobs being supervised.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to motivate individual contributors.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with all organizational levels.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- The capability to lead and champion change initiatives within the department.
- Strong technical knowledge of converting and finishing operations.
- Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret various forms of instructions.
- Mathematical proficiency to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
