Purchasing Manager Job Description

The Purchasing Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for all supplier communications, ensuring seamless material availability and quality for customer needs. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and effective time management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, monitor, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best pricing, quality, and lead time value for the company.
  • Plan, release, and monitor purchase orders and delivery dates to support production schedules.
  • Creation and tracking of supplier quotes during the bidding process for new work program solicitations.
  • Purchasing Manager will assist with the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of material movement through the product cycle.
  • Interface with Quality and Contracts to ensure contractual requirements and guidelines are flowed to and understood by Suppliers.
  • Coordinate returns/replenishment of discrepant material with suppliers to minimize impact to production process.
  • Assist in supplier audits both internal and external.
  • Planning Worksheet – run MRP: review suggestions, interpret demand, execute supply to support inventory and service objectives.
  • Assist in creation of shipping documents.

Requirements for the Position:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • APICS Cert preferred
  • Manufacturing experience - 3 years minimum- Rubber products a big plus
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • 3 or more years previous Purchasing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel. Salesforce knowledge a must.
  • Critical Thinking skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer experience including Microsoft Office Suite of products

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
