Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Texas Children's Pediatrics Medical Group Clinic. As a Front Office Specialist II and Certified Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical and non-clinical support to our patients and healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the collection of patient data, including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information.
  • Collect and document vital signs, height/weight, reason for visit, and current medications, allergies, and other information.
  • Coordinate referrals, ensuring that families have contact information and necessary documentation.
  • Prepare patients for examination and assist providers as directed during treatments, examinations, and testing.
  • Administer medication and immunizations as directed by physician and document administration in the medical record.
  • Provide patient and family education as instructed by the physician or site protocol.
  • Verify provider orders and patient information, collect and process specimens, and follow site protocol in reporting and documenting results.
  • Maintain and prepare reagents, perform and document required reagent checks, and take appropriate action.
  • Review billing information and process patient payments.
  • Maintain the integrity of the medical record and monitor patient information and other practice data.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from a medical assistant or emergency medical technician program or documentation from the licensing authority confirming that medical assistant/emergency medical technician education is not a requirement for certification.
  • 1 year of related experience.
  • BLS - American Heart Association certification.
  • One of the following certifications: CCMA, CMA-AAM, CMA-C, EMT, EMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, LIC PAR, NCMA, NRCMA, or RMA.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of related experience.
  • PALS - American Heart Association certification.
