Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our IVHM team, you will play a critical role in advancing aircraft safety and efficiency by designing, developing, and testing embedded software solutions for health management of aircraft systems.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a talented software engineer to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks, from software design and development to testing and debugging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test high-quality embedded software for IVHM products, adhering to GE processes and DO-178C standards.
  • Monitor continuous software integration and testing efforts, identifying software anomalies and devising robust solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and support to less experienced team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in avionics software development.
  • U.S. person status (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or other protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), due to access to export-controlled technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in STEM, with a focus on Software Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience with the software design lifecycle in an aerospace or similar safety-regulated environment, including familiarity with DO-178C.
  • Proficiency in Ada, C, and C++ programming languages, and experience with tools such as DOORS, RTC, Git, and Eclipse.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and solutions to a diverse audience.
  • Proven leadership qualities, with a track record of successfully managing projects and leading teams.
