Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Architect, design, and develop high-quality embedded software for IVHM products, adhering to GE processes and the rigorous standards of DO-178C.
  • Software Integration and Testing: Monitor continuous software integration and testing efforts, identifying software anomalies and devising robust solutions.
  • Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide mentorship and support to less experienced team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met, contributing to the overall success of the IVHM organization.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college, OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in avionics software development.
  • U.S. Person Status: U.S. person status (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or other protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), due to access to export-controlled technology. Proof of status will be required prior to employment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree in STEM, with a focus on Software Engineering.
  • Software Development Experience: Demonstrable experience with the software design lifecycle in an aerospace or similar safety-regulated environment, including familiarity with DO-178C.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Ada, C, and C++ programming languages, and experience with tools such as DOORS, RTC, Git, and Eclipse.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and solutions to a diverse audience.
  • Leadership Qualities: Proven leadership qualities, with a track record of successfully managing projects and leading teams.
  • Adaptability: An openness to learning and adaptability to new challenges.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile software development practices and/or lean methodologies.
