Job Summary

Bureau of Reclamation is seeking a highly skilled Support Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our records management team, you will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and overseeing a wide range of activities associated with the distribution, storage, retrieval, and disposition of electronic records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and implement records management procedures and guidelines
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of decentralized file stations
  • Provide screening, classifying, and disposition assistance to decentralized file stations and field offices
  • Respond to inquiries from staff regarding records management requirements
  • Conduct annual and periodic reviews of files maintained in decentralized file stations
  • Maintain and review records management training for the region
  • Screen centralized and decentralized files to identify and withdraw records, non-records, and reference materials for disposal actions

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National
  • Suitability for federal employment, determined by a background investigation
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-05 level in federal service
  • Knowledge of rules, guidelines, regulations, and precedents relating to records management and disposition procedures
  • Familiarity with various records management systems

Education:

  • One full year of graduate-level education in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
