Los Angeles, California, United States Maxonic Full time

Maxonic is proud to maintain a strong and enduring partnership with our esteemed client. To meet their evolving needs, we are in search of a Senior Accountant.

Position Overview: In the Transplant Diagnostics sector, we are looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Accountant to become a vital part of our team.

At TDX, your contributions—whether in financial modeling or performance tracking—are essential for our leadership to make informed strategic decisions. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on intricate details while creatively addressing broader challenges.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Accounting and FP&A management teams, accounting personnel, operational units, and business management to facilitate and enhance special projects, processes, and improvements. This role will also involve close collaboration on forecasting activities to ensure financial objectives are achieved. Responsibilities will include standardizing financial processes, reconciling financial documents (including P&L variances and monthly balance sheet reconciliations), and providing support during both internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute monthly and quarterly accounting close activities as designated.

• Maintain accurate accounting records and GL reconciliations across diverse accounting and intercompany functions.

• Prepare journal entries and ensure timely closure of corporate financial records, including reviewing close tasks and coordinating with business owners for analyses and entries.

• Manage Fixed Assets by assisting business partners in creating Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) and facilitating approvals, creating asset shells, posting monthly depreciation, and preparing reconciliation schedules.

• Oversee revenue recognition processes, including key spreadsheets for FOB analysis and posting deferred revenue in accordance with TMO policies.

• Conduct account reconciliations and take necessary actions to resolve outstanding items.

• Support the management reporting package and perform financial statement analyses, providing meaningful explanations for fluctuations to management and auditors.

• Collaborate with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance with approved accounting policies and assist in quarterly audits.

• Serve as a key business partner to operational leaders in achieving financial targets.

• Analyze metrics, trends, and performance data, delivering insights to the division leadership team.

• Exhibit proactivity and strong problem-solving skills, conducting root cause analyses as needed.

• Perform ad hoc analyses to address urgent inquiries.

• Demonstrate a keen attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively.

• Maintain a consistent track record of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

As a member of the TDX accounting team, you will handle essential finance responsibilities. Your foundational knowledge of accounting and finance principles will be crucial as you prepare, analyze, and interpret financial data sets, creating insightful reports that inform senior leadership decisions. Each day presents new challenges, and you will continually seek ways to enhance our team's efficiency and effectiveness. A collaborative spirit is essential, as you will work with a distributed team, advocate for best practices, and contribute hands-on when necessary. You will balance speed with meticulous attention to detail, leveraging your problem-solving abilities to support the objectives of the Transplant Diagnostics Division.

Essential Skills:

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, creed, religion, color, national or ethnic origin, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, genetic information, veteran status, age, or disability status.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel.

• Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.

• Familiarity with tools such as Cognos, HFM, SAP, or similar systems.

• Comfortable working with large, complex data sets and communicating findings to senior management.

• Knowledge of standard finance systems (e.g., Oracle, Hyperion, CMR, SAP).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, with a solid grasp of financial reporting and analysis.

• Strong understanding of current US GAAP, particularly in Revenue Recognition.

• Proficient in SAP systems.

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to communicate professionally with all organizational levels while consistently delivering accurate work and managing multiple deadlines.
