Role Summary: Ensuring Adherence to Food Safety Regulations

We are seeking a dedicated Regulatory Specialist to enhance our team and uphold our exceptional standards in quality and food safety. In this role, you will be tasked with delivering regulatory assistance to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that Ditsch adheres to all applicable legal and customer mandates. Additionally, you will guide our product development teams in managing specifications and label creation.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory and Client Support

  • Remain informed about changes in regulatory codes and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Provide counsel to internal teams regarding compliance with regulations pertinent to target markets.
  • Recognize regulatory obstacles that may affect commercial prospects and collaborate across departments to address them.
  • Oversee and manage product certifications, including Kosher, Halal, and Non-GMO.
  • Prepare and submit documentation to fulfill external customer requirements.
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of customer specifications and pinpoint issues related to new business initiatives.

Process and System Management

  • Administer the supplier and ingredient approval workflow.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to current processes for greater efficiency.
  • Take ownership of the product label and specification development procedures.
  • Maintain and oversee documentation for product and process change requests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a regulatory capacity within the food sector.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (spreadsheets and word processing).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead initiatives and implement changes effectively.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
