Job Overview

Citadel is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the development of its business banking products and services. As the Vice President, Head of Business Banking, you will be responsible for ensuring the member experience aligns with Citadel's overall mission, brand, and strategy. You will collaborate with Senior Management, Lending, and other key stakeholders to analyze, evaluate, and evolve business banking services and products in line with Citadel's long-term goals.

Responsibilities
  • Business Banking Planning
    • Participate in long and short-term planning and business banking strategy for Citadel.
    • Develop and maintain business banking policies and procedures, ensuring they complement organizational goals.
    • Establish and execute goals, coordinating their implementation with all departments.
    • Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan specifically for the Business Banking Department.
    • Stay informed about developments and changes in business banking services, market conditions, local competition, and related laws and regulations.
    • Lead and/or collaborate in leading the research, planning, and development of new business banking products, services, and technologies.
    • Engage in membership discovery practices to continuously understand the needs of the business member for future solution identification, development, and implementation.
    • Manage third-party relationships in compliance with the Citadel Vendor Management Policy.
  • Effective Business Banking Performance
    • Ensure members are provided with safe and sound, cost-effective, and efficient services and products to help them reach their financial objectives.
    • Offer creative solutions to meet the business banking needs of our members.
    • Ensure that business banking activities are conducted in accordance with established policy guidelines and standards and are properly documented.
    • Ensure members are properly informed of Citadel policies and procedures.
    • Ensure the maintenance of statistics relative to business banking, including account summaries, profitability, etc.
    • Collaborate, or lead others to collaborate, with Citadel's Business Lending team in monitoring the credit quality of the member businesses in the portfolio and assist with gathering tax records, financial statements, cash flows, etc.
  • Business Development
    • Oversee and be responsible for the Citadel's business banking growth efforts for new relationships.
    • Responsible for the stewardship and maintenance of existing relationships.
    • Recommend tactics in strategic plans to obtain growth, profitability, and other related targets.
    • Responsible for promoting, facilitating, and modeling sales and service to build member relationships, ensuring that activities achieve Citadel's desired objectives.
    • Understand the local market and competitors and share information with other colleagues and Senior Management.
    • Manage relationships with high-profile members to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Business Banking Administration
    • Manage and oversee the Business Banking budget and expenses.
    • Pursue revenue-improving and cost-saving measures.
    • Keep Senior Management informed of progress toward established objectives and of any significant issues.
    • Complete required reports and related documents promptly and accurately, and in compliance with Citadel's guidelines and policies.
    • Ensure the maintenance of department records.
    • Attend meetings and participate in committees as required.
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Communicate Citadel's vision and strategy to members of the Business Banking team, helping each team member understand their role in assisting Citadel achieve success.
    • Provide leadership to the team through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication.
    • Conduct staff meetings as required.
    • Assign, direct, and coordinate work.
    • Direct, appraise, and coach the team, ensuring that all business banking services are professionally delivered and preparing them for the possibility of greater responsibility in the future.
    • Work with Learning and Leadership to ensure that staff and managers are well-trained in all phases of their respective jobs.
    • Assist with department succession planning through identifying potential successors and assisting in creating Leadership Development Plans for potential successors.
    • Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback to the team.
    • Formulate and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Manage staffing levels and assure human resources are effectively utilized.
    • Conduct interviews and assist with hiring as needed.
    • Strive to create employee engagement across the credit union.
  • Professional Relationships
    • Ensure that business banking activities are well-coordinated with other Citadel operations.
    • Encourage and support Citadel's mission, values, brand, promise, and purpose.
    • Promote Citadel's sales and service culture.
    • Ensure that members' requests, issues, and questions are promptly and effectively resolved.
    • Actively participate in community organizations by serving on committees and boards when appropriate.
    • Actively participate in trade and professional organizations to advance knowledge, promote the Citadel's image, and develop networking opportunities.
    • Ensure that the Citadel's professional reputation is maintained throughout business transactions with members.
