Overview

Novant Health is seeking a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) to join our team at Presbyterian Medical Center.

  • As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will have the opportunity to work with a high degree of autonomy, practicing under respiratory and ventilator management protocols.
  • Depending on the facility, you may perform intubations and insert a-lines.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED, required
  • A 2-Year / Associate Degree, required
  • A 4-Year / Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • Current RCP licensure in the appropriate state, required
Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist II, your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a patient advocate, incorporating education into the interdisciplinary care plan
  • Prioritizing job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels
  • Administering and evaluating medication therapies, performing patient transfers and transports
  • Providing routine respiratory care, such as ABGs and bronchial hygiene therapy, as well as higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations
  • Demonstrating independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care, practicing according to state requirements and standards
  • Critical Care Specific: Ventilator management, code blue, airway management, interpretation and intervention with blood gas analysis, use of all related protocols for patient care
