Job Overview

Position Summary: As a leading figure in marketing and communications at The Conference Board, the Senior Director is responsible for crafting and delivering impactful experiences that provide valuable insights for our members and the broader public. Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the primary spokesperson for the Marketing and Communications Center, representing specific areas of expertise at media events, conferences, and member engagements.
  • Organizing and facilitating roundtables, webcasts, and other interactive sessions with members and external audiences.
  • Providing expert advice on targeted topics, collaborating with high-level professionals to enhance The Conference Board's influence through innovative projects and services.
  • Partnering with Member Development and other teams to strategize on attracting new members and sponsors for various initiatives.
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and managing talent to foster a high-performing team.
  • Coordinating with other Center Leaders to ensure a cohesive approach to insights across different business units.
  • Overseeing the creation of sales materials and program updates for the Sales Enablement Team.
  • Contributing to the Center's overall success by engaging members, identifying key issues, shaping research, and developing strategic plans.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a senior marketing or communications role, ideally reporting directly to the CEO.
  • Strong understanding of market trends and consumer behavior, with a proven track record as a thought leader in the field.
  • Exceptional writing skills, demonstrated through published works focusing on marketing and communications.
  • Outstanding oral communication abilities, with experience presenting complex research to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient listening skills, capable of synthesizing member feedback into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with various research methodologies, including survey design and focus group facilitation.
  • Solid grasp of the business landscape and marketing principles.
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience advising C-Suite executives in a peer-to-peer capacity.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects effectively.
  • A Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, along with significant relevant experience.
