Position Overview

As a pivotal member of the Product Development team, you will collaborate closely with Design, Tooling, and Automation Engineering to ensure the delivery of flawless product designs, tooling, and processes. Your role will encompass the development and execution of intricate plastic injection molding, high-speed/high-volume assembly, liquid-filling, and packaging across a diverse range of innovative consumer products.

Work Arrangement

This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence at our Milford, CT facility on designated days, with flexibility to visit as needed for project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of all assigned Reliability Engineering deliverables from initial concept through to production.
  • Implement all Advanced Quality Planning and reliability design activities for complex, concurrent product initiatives, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of Advanced Quality Planning principles.
  • Engage daily with product, process, tooling, and manufacturing engineers to align on shared objectives; represent Reliability Engineering in Program Meetings led by senior management.
  • Contribute to product and process design evaluations, advocating for consumer preferences and requirements.
  • Lead or assist in the development of consumer-focused processes and protocols aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Support product and process validation efforts, utilizing lean testing methodologies and analytical techniques.
  • Exhibit strong advocacy in a cross-functional environment, promoting consumer-centric decision-making and lean methodologies; display decisiveness and adaptability to change.
  • Occasionally oversee the operations and personnel within an engineering laboratory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a product development setting is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in structured problem-solving techniques, with extensive experience in addressing technical challenges in a systematic manner and leading problem-solving teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab.
  • Trained in structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills within a team environment, demonstrating proactivity in responsibilities and relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of applying knowledge of plastic and metal mechanical and material properties in both development and problem-solving contexts.
  • Adept at understanding consumer needs to inform functional engineering requirements.
  • Skilled in developing consumer-driven tests that validate product durability.
