Job Summary

The Health Equity Specialist plays a critical role in managing and supporting organizational health equity goals by implementing, monitoring, and evaluating performance measures to identify, prevent, and reduce healthcare disparities. This position reports to the ABHNJ Director of Quality Management and works closely with the ABHNJ CEO, COO, CMO, CFO, and matrixed growth partners to address health disparities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support organizational health equity goals through identifying, analyzing, and addressing health disparities, performance improvement plans, and interventions related to health disparities, cultural competence training, modifying, and establishing internal and external policies and procedures to address and incorporate health equity, and reporting on organizational diversity activities to facilitate an inclusive workforce to support beneficiaries.
  • Chair the ABHNJ Health Equity/Disparity Workgroup
  • Develop and implement a process and action plan to identify and evaluate healthcare disparities by subgroups, including gender, race, ethnicity, historically marginalized populations, primary language, geographic location, and disability status
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the action plan

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of experience in NJ Medicaid Managed care
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with providers, advocate, and state partners
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Experience navigating a matrixed organization
  • Experience developing and executing project plans and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in Human Resources

Education

Bachelor's degree or High School Equivalent and 4 years of experience or Associate degree and 2 years of experience in a health-related field

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $63,139.20. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
