Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct rough carpentry tasks such as framing walls, constructing bulkheads, and layout of stringers, utilizing both wood and metal materials.
  • Perform finish carpentry work, including the installation of wood bases, jambs, casings, hinge pockets, doors, windows, and sidelights.
  • Delegate specific tasks to team members to ensure timely project completion.
  • Oversee the installation of prefabricated and custom cabinetry and countertops.
  • Manage door hardware installations, including handsets, closers, kick plates, panic bars, and sweeps.
  • Support fellow carpenters with necessary tasks, promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Interpret blueprints and ensure compliance with current building codes.
  • Organize and manage material deliveries efficiently.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols at the job site.
  • Review and understand contract documents.
  • Ensure job site cleanliness by managing waste and organizing materials.
  • Be prepared to perform the duties of a Trades Carpenter when not acting as a Trades Supervisor.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of carpentry experience with proven leadership abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Knowledge of MIOSHA and OSHA regulations relevant to assigned duties.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills:

  • First Aid and CPR Certification (safety training will be provided upon hire).
