About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist PRN to join our team at Fairview Park Hospital. As a Medical Technologist PRN, you will play a critical role in providing patients and physicians with accurate and timely laboratory results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including routine and specialized tests, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Interpret test results and take appropriate actions, including requesting assistance from more experienced medical technologists or technical managers when needed.
  • Organize workload to achieve efficiency and report results in a timely manner according to patient needs.
  • Exercise judgment to determine the acceptability or rejection of results according to standards set for tests.
  • Perform, record, and document corrective action when quality control results are not within defined limits.
  • Follow best practice methodologies prescribed and maintain a well-kept work area.
Requirements
  • Must be currently registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist by ASCP.
  • BS in Medical Technology or Baccalaureate degree plus completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology program.
  • Hospital laboratory experience preferred.
