Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at ICONMA. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient transport and transfer within the department and hospital.
  • Administer oxygen via nasal cannula, NRB, and BVM.
  • Apply NIBP, ECG electrodes, pulse oximetry, and end-tidal CO2 for central monitoring of patients.
  • Assist with responding to patient call lights and/or family requests and refer appropriately.
  • Ensure the safety of the patient population served by demonstrating age-appropriate skills when assisting with nursing care activities as directed by licensed nursing personnel.
  • Perform duties generally supportive to the activities of daily living for patients, which do not require nursing assessment skills during their performance.
  • Perform unit-related tasks as assigned by the Nurse Director or designee.
  • Attend appropriate in-service and educational programs commensurate with job responsibilities.
  • Float to various units as requested.
  • Accept assignments and work under the direction of the Charge RN or designee.
  • Immediately report changes in patient condition to the primary care RN.
  • Complete assignments and demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes in workload.
  • Accurately obtain, document, and report vital signs and recheck as needed. Report abnormal findings to the primary RN or Charge RN.
  • Accurately measure and document intake and output as needed.
  • Perform capillary blood glucose testing utilizing proper technique and equipment, document results, and report abnormal results to the RN.
  • Perform ECGs.
  • Maintain and support patients' rights to care, privacy, and respect.
  • Participate in unit/hospital projects that seek to improve patient care.
