Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist to join our team at UF Health. As a Financial Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering excellent patient-centered service in a medical office setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow to ensure a comfortable wait experience.
  • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and other payments in a professional manner.
  • Review patient balances and enter charges promptly and accurately.
  • Process referrals and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and greet patients professionally.
  • May be required to float to other practices or flex time as needed for staffing.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years of business, financial, or physician practice experience preferred.
  • One year of financial, business, physician office, or customer service required.
  • Knowledge of validating patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Excellent customer relations and phone skills.
  • Familiarity with CPT and diagnosis coding preferred.
  • Ability to problem solve and work as a team member.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or equivalent coursework may substitute for the one year required experience.
  • Initiative, multitasking, and ability to take on responsibilities.
