About the Role

Avison Young is a leading global commercial real estate brokerage and advisory firm, offering a comprehensive suite of services to our clients. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant to join our team, responsible for preparing timely financial statements and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, lease abstracts, and other financial documents.
  • Prepare and process monthly financial statements, including cash basis and accrual basis reporting.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare audit packages for auditors and controllers.
  • Assist in the review and analysis of corporate accounts receivable, including payroll reimbursements, management fees, and lease commissions.
  • Prepare and submit written action plans for desk coverage during absences.
Requirements
  • University degree or college diploma in an accounting-related field of study.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of commercial real estate experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of financial reporting experience.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and cope with changing priorities.
