Role Overview:

As a Scheduler at MZT, your primary responsibility will be to orchestrate schedules that guarantee the smooth and effective execution of assigned construction projects. Your leadership capabilities, organizational prowess, and construction knowledge will be crucial in ensuring successful scheduling outcomes that meet client expectations. You will play an integral role in the project team, responsible for developing, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing all scheduling activities to ensure timely project delivery and quality from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Quality Control Managers, and Superintendents to confirm that timing, methods, and processes align with contractual obligations while being both profitable and feasible.
  • Create and assess project plans and change orders, encompassing schedule, budget, staffing, and subcontracting considerations.
  • Formulate and monitor project schedules and milestones to effectively allocate construction crews from initial client engagement through to project completion.
  • Develop proposal and baseline schedules, maintaining comprehensive awareness of all project statuses to ensure success and profitability.
  • Prepare timely narratives and reports, manage cost loading, and oversee resource allocation.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Contribute to pre-construction scheduling and collaborate with our in-house design team.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for scheduling-related inquiries.
  • Partner with Project Managers to communicate project milestones to stakeholders during regularly scheduled meetings and as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Generate critical path and logic reports to review and confirm timing and budget alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling procedures, including baseline schedules and monthly updates for multiple projects.
  • Manage cost loading schedules and coordinate with Project Managers.
  • Assist the Project Management team and Superintendents in addressing on-site challenges related to construction or personnel issues.
  • Organize status meetings and training sessions.
  • Track baseline schedules and devise contingency plans.
  • Produce and ensure that the scheduling system fulfills all project requirements and specifications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, means, methods, and procedures within the construction sector.
  • Experience in both civil/horizontal and building/vertical construction.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management and/or Operations Management is preferred, along with demonstrated experience in managing multiple construction projects (commercial, public works, or government).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as business correspondence and in-field communication will be significant aspects of this role.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities to respond promptly to internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with other construction management platforms is desirable (e.g., Primavera P6, RMS, Oracle, eCMS, etc.).
  • Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Proficiency in Procore is required.
