The Senior Project Superintendent is responsible for managing all operational divisions, including client relations, personnel management, supplier coordination, subcontractor oversight, and ensuring project safety, quality, planning, operational efficiency, cost management, and training.
District Overview
Kiewit's Southeast District stands as a premier division specializing in heavy civil construction, transportation, and water resource projects. The work encompasses a variety of infrastructure initiatives such as bridge construction, airport development, mass transit systems, canal building, dam projects, pump station construction, and tunneling. While the majority of our projects are concentrated in the southeastern United States, we also engage in various initiatives along the eastern seaboard. We seek individuals who are dedicated to infrastructure and have a strong commitment to the construction sector rather than design.

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Responsibilities
• Analyze projections and financial strategies.
• Update and review 90-day discipline schedules with team members.
• Assess ST&S and equipment expenses with staff.
• Determine equipment requirements in collaboration with the Construction Manager.
• Conduct weekly departmental meetings, evaluating LDR reviews and commodity trends.
• Lead weekly scheduling discussions.
• Observe and assess operations, collaborating with the superintendent to enhance efficiency.
• Participate in various crew safety meetings and provide feedback.
2. Administrative Responsibilities
• Maintain a daily log for documentation purposes.
• Review daily expenditures.
• Prepare monthly cost reports for each section.
• Coordinate tasks with colleagues on-site.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field with relevant experience.
- Hands-on field experience in supervisory roles within construction disciplines (e.g., Drainage, Earthworks, Structures, Concrete).
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines and applicable safety regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of cost management, planning, and scheduling processes.
- Familiarity with contract documents and project specifications.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Integrity and adherence to ethical standards in all activities.
- Willingness to travel and/or relocate as necessary.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to navigate construction sites in diverse environments.
Working Conditions
Regular, reliable attendance is expected. Employees must work productively to meet deadlines and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. Safety and adherence to instructions are paramount, as is the ability to work during standard hours, including overtime and weekends as needed. Employees may be required to work at various locations with varying conditions.
