Job Title: Field Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Engineer to join our team in the Southeast region. As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects, working closely with our field operations team to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in interpreting drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
  • Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining the percentage of completed/installed materials and work.
  • Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages.
  • Assist in the field surveying and work layout support, including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data.
  • Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets.
  • Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's).
  • Participate in job site safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training.
  • Order and schedule material deliveries.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite.
  • Supervise field operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • At least three years of experience working in the construction field.
  • Familiar with grading, drainage, paving (asphalt and concrete), bridge construction, retaining walls, and other heavy civil construction scopes.
  • Must have working knowledge and be able to direct the operations of at least these management systems: scheduling - CPM, unit man-hour performance, material control, estimating, and subcontracts.
  • Experience with leadership and management of people, communication (verbal and written), planning, and organization.

Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
