The City of Medford is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Summer Park Program Supervisor. This seasonal role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional programs for the community.

 

**Job Summary**

The Summer Park Program Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and activities of the program, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, and managing staff. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

 

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Safety and Risk Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by implementing effective risk management strategies and protocols.
  • Staff Supervision: Directly supervise and evaluate counselors, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Program Delivery: Develop and implement engaging programs that meet the needs of diverse participants, working collaboratively with the program manager to achieve goals.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on program activities and participant progress.

 

**Requirements and Qualifications**

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in supervising children, preferably in a recreation or youth-focused setting.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage staff.
  • Strong organizational abilities, including the capacity to maintain records and schedules.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with parents and guardians.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in using software such as MyRec management software an asset.

 

**Compensation and Benefits**

This is a seasonal position, running from July 7th to August 15th, with a salary of approximately $35,000 - $40,000 depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, employees are entitled to benefits and may also receive flexible scheduling opportunities during the late Winter and Spring season.

 

**Location and Schedule**

This position is based at Tufts Park in Medford, MA, and involves working 35-40 hours per week. Additional flexible hours may be available during the late Winter and Spring season to prepare for the Summer.
