The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is a world-class institution dedicated to solving complex challenges in defense, security, space, and science.
Salary: $123,000 - $230,000 per yearWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior AFSIM Analyst to join our team of experts in the Air Combat and Strike Mission Analysis Group.
Job Description:
- Develop and evaluate models and concepts of employment for cutting-edge technologies such as advanced air platforms, strike weapons, and integrated multi-domain effects.
- Collaborate with software development teams to improve customized tools, including designing efficient representations for large datasets, testing accurate interactions across interdependent algorithms, and automating production analysis pipelines.
- Work with a team of analysts who will benefit from your experience, and senior engineers with whom you will guide the direction of analysis.
- Have opportunities to engage in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and reward independent initiative.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related area.
- Demonstrated excellence working with AFSIM performing modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Knowledge in Air or Strike Warfare domains.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment and communicate sophisticated ideas directly with government civilians, military officers, and other contractors.
- Strong scripting and programming skills with any of the following languages: Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or JAVA.
