Brooklyn, New York, United States CAMBA Full time
Job Title: Community Pathway Worker, School-Based Early Support Program

CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors, and partners working together to build an inclusive New York City where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. Our comprehensive approach offers more than 180 integrated programs in Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach over 73,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. Our clients are diverse, with more than half being immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families live in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

The School-Based Early Support Program is a collaborative initiative with ACS designed to empower families and promote children's well-being within the school environment. This program offers a range of services and supports directly accessible to families through partnerships with local schools.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outreach activities to build relationships with diverse families.
  • Identify at-risk families and educate school staff about the program.
  • Develop and deliver engaging school-based programs focused on parenting skills, financial literacy, social-emotional learning, and celebrating diversity.
  • Collaborate with school teams to integrate the program with prevention plans.
  • Keep stakeholders informed through regular communication channels.
  • Build strong relationships with families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Promote program inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Provide School-Based Early Support services to families for 6-12 months, addressing challenges and fostering healthy family environments for children's school success.
  • Conduct frequent and regular casework contact with families, adhering to ACS standards.
  • Documentation for families participating in the community pathway or school-based offerings will be kept offline, outside of child welfare systems of record.
  • Connect families with a full range of services and advocate for them with government and private-sector services. Facilitate communication among service providers and provide ongoing support.
  • Advocate for families' involvement in their children's education and assist them with meeting basic needs and accessing essential community services.
  • Build trusting relationships and act as a client advocate in various settings to empower clients and connect them with essential resources.
  • Adhere to ACS and program standards to ensure fidelity in delivering the program effectively.
  • Co-facilitate evidence-based parent/caregiver support groups using the Triple P model. This equips parents with positive techniques to manage challenging behaviors and build strong relationships with their children.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), or Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with families and children in a community setting.
Benefits:

CAMBA offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, paid time off (vacation, personal, and sick time), and paid holidays.
