Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled anesthesiologist to contribute to the education of upcoming medical professionals, including residents and student nurse anesthetists, within the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver anesthesia and perioperative care for a variety of procedures in both surgical and non-surgical settings.
  • Work within a collaborative framework, supervising CRNAs or Residents while also managing your own cases independently.
  • Maintain a family-oriented work schedule with rotating shifts, averaging around 40 hours weekly.
  • Fulfill on-call duties from home one day per week and every eighth weekend.
  • Engage with a diverse array of cases across multiple specialties.
  • Collaborate with a supportive network of healthcare professionals in a nurturing team atmosphere.
  • Participate in the training and development of Anesthesia Residents and SRNAs in various clinical environments.
  • Benefit from allocated time for rest and recuperation after on-call duties, as well as for administrative responsibilities.
  • Explore academic appointment opportunities with George Washington University.

Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, candidates with specialized training or experience in cardiothoracic anesthesia, acute perioperative pain management, or regional anesthesia will be prioritized.

Additional Benefits: This position includes eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which offers reimbursement for student loan payments.
