Program Manager

Job Summary:
The Program Manager serves as the leader of the Program Management Team, often referred to as the Iron Triangle.

This role involves collaborating closely with Product Development Engineers and Advanced Quality Engineers to estimate, develop, and introduce new automotive glass products for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

The Program Manager will engage directly with clients regarding all aspects of the initial launch of various glass products, including Windshields, Backlights, Doors, Quarter Windows, and Sunroofs.

The position also entails representing Fuyao at customer development events and meetings while ensuring compliance with Fuyao policies, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and customer deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **New Product Launch Management** - Oversee the introduction of automotive glass products, capable of managing multiple OEM customers and various program openings.
2. **Communication Liaison** - Act as the primary contact for OEM customers, leading internal teams within the Iron Triangle and OEM programs.
3. **Diverse Communication Methods** - Utilize various communication channels, including face-to-face meetings, emails, texts, and verbal discussions.
4. **Customer Advocate** - Serve as the 'Voice of the Customer' internally, ensuring customer needs are met throughout the process.
5. **Team Organization** - Coordinate internal resources and processes to meet customer deliverables effectively.
6. **Event Participation** - Attend customer build events and meetings as necessary, with potential international travel and overnight stays, which may reach up to 25% of time during certain program phases.
7. **Budget Management** - Maintain the program budget, overseeing components, tooling, equipment, and packaging purchases.
8. **Cost Oversight** - Manage costs from quotation to invoicing, inputting customer orders into the ERP system (PLEX), and creating timing charts to ensure on-time delivery.
9. **Contingency Planning** - Develop backup plans and expedited delivery schedules to mitigate delays.
10. **Knowledge Acquisition** - Within the first 90 days, gain comprehensive product and process knowledge relevant to the leadership role.
11. **Additional Duties** - Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management, with the flexibility to work overtime and adapt to various functions.

Qualifications:

- Proven strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or a related educational background.
- Demonstrated experience in dynamic matrix management, budget control, and timing chart development.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A strong safety mindset is essential.
- Ability to navigate the manufacturing environment for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs. with assistance.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP software, with PLEX being the current standard.
- Skilled in documenting Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Experience in manufacturing processes, particularly high-speed assembly and glass bending.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on decision-making and managing multiple programs to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals from concept through launch.
- Training in TS16949, innovation methods, project management, and Six Sigma is advantageous.
