We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at Foundation Health Partners. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating patient scheduling, registration, and pre-certifications for our Outpatient Endocrinology Clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and verify physician orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform pre-registration and registration processes, verifying insurance coverage and obtaining pre-authorizations and pre-certifications.
- Accurately document patient information into our electronic health record system.
- Coordinate prior authorizations for patient treatments or diagnostic procedures.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and document patient re-schedules.
- Enter patient information into our computerized scheduling system and gather information to maintain current databases.
- Prepare charts and manage files within regulatory requirements.
- Compile and report statistical data as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of medical clerical experience, with knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills, effective human relations, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with commonly used office software and computers, including computerized scheduling systems.
Prior experience in a hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling setting is preferred. Additional related education and/or experience is also desirable.
